Services
Energy efficiency is simply the process of doing the same or more with less energy. Participating in no-cost energy efficiency programs is the first and most important step toward achieving your efficiency goals.
Making your home more energy efficient will not only save you money, but will also contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases (CO2) emissions. California residents who participate in energy efficiency programs help reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and smog-forming pollutants by more than hundreds of thousands tons per year — the equivalent of removing tens of thousands cars from the road annually.
Energy efficiency saves you money, is good for the environment, and can enhance quality of life. Take advantage of the improvements that can be made to your home by signing up for one or more of the services listed below at no cost to you.
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Heating and cooling account for approximately 40–55% of a home’s total energy use, making HVAC systems the single largest source of energy consumption in most households. Older furnaces, air conditioners, and duct systems often operate Inefficiently, wasting energy and increasing monthly utility costs.
Upgrading to a high-efficiency heating and cooling system can significantly improve comfort while reducing energy usage and operating expenses. Modern high-efficiency furnaces and air conditioners use advanced technology to deliver better temperature control with less energy. Heat pump systems provide both heating and cooling in one highly efficient unit, transferring heat instead of generating it directly, which can dramatically lower energy consumption. Properly sealed ductwork, smart thermostats, and improved insulation also help maximize system performance and efficiency.
In addition to lowering utility bills, upgrading your HVAC system can improve indoor air quality, provide more consistent temperatures throughout the home, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the overall value and energy efficiency of your property. Do not let your energy bills empty your wallet, instead contact us to determine if you are eligible to receive one or more of the following HVAC services at no cost to you:
New Central Air Conditioner or Heat Pump System
New Furnace
New Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump System
New Smart Thermostat
Duct Testing and Sealing
Furnace Repair and/or Tune-Up
Furnace Blower Motor Upgrade
Smart Fan Controller for your existing HVAC system
Forced Air Unit Standing Pilot Conversion
New Room Air Conditioner
Whole House Fan
Evaporative “Swamp” Cooler
Lighting
Switching from traditional lighting to energy-efficient lighting can save you up to 70% in your lighting costs. Participating households may be eligible to receive:
Light Emitting Diode (LED) Bulbs - use 80% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and have much longer life span.
Outdoor Fixtures - replace your old inefficient fixture to new efficient fixture which includes a dusk-to-dawn feature.
Smart Power Strip - you television and computer components draw power even when they are turned off. You can receive a new smart power strip that reduces usage by completely shutting down your components when in standby mode.
Weatherization
Weatherization reduces the amount of air that infiltrates your home and helps protect your home from the elements, such as sunlight and precipitation. A properly weatherized home reduces energy consumption and optimizes energy efficiency.
Eligible households may receive free weatherization services which include:
Attic Insulation
Minor Home Repairs
Weather-stripping
Caulking
Water Heater Blanket
Low-flow Shower-heads & Aerators
AC Vent Covers
Hot Water Heating
On average, water heating accounts for about 18–25% of a home’s total energy use, making it one of the largest energy expenses in most households. Traditional water heaters, especially older storage tank models, can consume significant amounts of energy by constantly heating and reheating water throughout the day, even when it is not being used.
Upgrading to a more efficient hot water system can greatly reduce energy consumption, lower utility bills, and improve overall home comfort. Modern high-efficiency storage water heaters use better insulation and advanced burner technology to reduce heat loss.
Tankless water heaters provide hot water on demand, eliminating the energy waste associated with storing heated water. Heat pump water heaters are among the most energy-efficient options available, using electricity to move heat rather than generate it directly, which can reduce water heating energy use by up to 60–70%.
In addition to saving energy and money, upgrading your water heater can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve reliability, and increase the value and efficiency of your home.

Upgrade Your Appliances at No Cost to you
Upgrading older, inefficient appliances to today’s modern energy-efficient models is one of the most effective ways homeowners can reduce energy consumption, lower utility costs, and improve overall home performance. Appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, and cooking equipment are used daily and can account for a significant portion of a household’s energy use, especially if they are more than 12 years old.
Modern ENERGY STAR® certified appliances are designed with advanced technology that uses less electricity and water while delivering better performance and reliability. Newer appliances operate more efficiently, reduce strain on utility systems, and often include smart features that help homeowners better manage energy use. For example, high-efficiency washers and dishwashers use less water and energy per cycle, while modern refrigerators maintain temperatures more effectively with lower power consumption.
In addition to reducing monthly utility bills, upgrading appliances helps decrease greenhouse gas emissions, supports a more sustainable home, and can improve comfort, convenience, and property value.
If you have older appliances, you may be eligible to receive one or more ENERGY STAR® qualified models listed below that use less energy and are better for the environment. In addition, your older appliances will be recycled by a Certified Appliance Recycler to ensure it is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in compliance with all California hazardous waste laws.
You may qualify to receive, at no cost to you a New ENERGY STAR®
Refrigerator
Standalone Freezer
Dishwasher
Clothes Washer
Clothes Dryer
Induction Range or Cooktop
Variable Speed Pool Pump
To participate, household must meet income requirements and appliances must meet age, size, and condition requirements.
