Services

Energy efficiency is simply the process of doing the same or more with less energy. Participating in no-cost energy efficiency programs is the first and most important step toward achieving your efficiency goals.

Making your home more energy efficient will not only save you money, but will also contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases (CO2) emissions. California residents who participate in energy efficiency programs help reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and smog-forming pollutants by more than hundreds of thousands tons per year — the equivalent of removing tens of thousands cars from the road annually.

Energy efficiency saves you money, is good for the environment, and can enhance quality of life. Take advantage of the improvements that can be made to your home by signing up for one or more of the services listed below at no cost to you.

Air Conditioner Replacement

Cooling your home with older inefficient appliances can lead to high-energy bills during the warm months. This Summer, don’t let your energy bills empty your wallet, instead contact us to determine if you are eligible to receive a new more efficient Room Air Conditioner or Central Air Conditioner.

If eligible, recipients of a central air conditioner may also receive a free programmable thermostat, duct testing, and/or duct sealing.

Evaporative “Swamp” Cooler

An evaporative cooler cools outdoor air using evaporated water and circulates it throughout the house. Using an evaporative cooler instead of your air conditioner can reduce your cooling cost up to 30%

If you have a working air conditioning unit, you may be eligible to receive a window or wall evaporative cooler.

Furnace Repair or Replacement

If you have a gas furnace, your home is being heated by the burning of natural gas. A neglected furnace can be dangerous and lead to costly repairs or stop operating entirely.

Participants that are eligible may have their furnace inspected, and if necessary repaired or replaced at no cost.

Refrigerator Replacement

Today’s refrigerators use much less energy than older models due to improvements in insulation and compressors. If you have an older refrigerator, you may be eligible to receive an ENERGY STAR® qualified model that uses less energy and is better for the environment. In addition, your older refrigerator will be recycled by a Certified Appliance Recycler to ensure it is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner in compliance with all California hazardous waste laws.

Program offers white one white, without ice maker only.

Lighting

Switching from traditional lighting to energy-efficient lighting can save you up to 70% in your lighting costs. Participating households may be eligible to receive:

  • Light Emitting Diode (LED) Bulbs - use 80% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and have much longer life span.

  • Outdoor Fixtures - replace your old inefficient fixture to new efficient fixture which includes a dusk-to-dawn feature.

  • Torchiere ( Floor) Lamps - old halogen models can be unsafe and use a lot of energy. You can receive a replacement fixture that is safe, uses much less energy, and includes a fluorescent bulb that lasts much longer.

  • Smart Power Strip - you television and computer components draw power even when they are turned off. You can receive a new smart power strip that reduces usage by completely shutting down your components when in standby mode.

Weatherization

Weatherization reduces the amount of air that infiltrates your home and helps protect your home from the elements, such as sunlight and precipitation. A properly weatherized home reduces energy consumption and optimizes energy efficiency.

Eligible households may receive free weatherization services which include:

  • Attic Insulation

  • Minor Home Repairs

  • Weather-stripping

  • Caulking

  • Water Heater Blanket

  • Low-flow Shower-heads & Aerators

  • AC Vent Covers
